Privacy policy

Before After Slider for Shopify (also listed as Easy Before After Slider), by bPlugins. Effective September 23, 2026.

Before After Slider ("the app") is a Shopify app that lets merchants build before/after comparisons of images, videos and PDF documents in the Shopify admin and show them on their online store. This policy explains what the app stores, why, for how long, and how to have it removed. It applies to merchants who install the app and to visitors of stores that display a slider.

What we store about your store

When you install the app we store only what is needed to run it:

DataWhy
Your store's myshopify domain and the API access token Shopify issues to the appTo identify your store and call the Shopify Admin API on your behalf
The sliders you design: names, headings, captions, image, video and PDF links, alt text, hotspot text, label translations, button labels and links, style settings and custom CSSTo save your work, show a live preview, and publish the slider to your store
Which products and collections carry which slider (IDs, titles and handles)To list assignments in the app and write the metafields the theme blocks read
Anonymous interaction counts per slider per day: how many times a slider was first dragged or its videos first played on a pageTo show you how often your sliders are used
Your plan and subscription records: plan name, subscription ID, status and priceTo apply plan limits and show your billing status. Payment is handled entirely by Shopify; we never see card or bank details
Onboarding progressTo show the setup checklist

Images, videos and PDFs you pick stay in your Shopify Files library. Files you upload through the app go straight to Shopify Files; the app stores only their URLs.

The app writes into your store: a product metafield and a collection metafield holding a slider ID, and app-owned metafields holding published slider content. Shopify removes app-owned metafields when the app is uninstalled.

What we do not collect

If you compare YouTube or Vimeo videos, those videos load from the provider (YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode, Vimeo with do-not-track) when the shopper views them, and the provider's own privacy policy applies to that playback. PDF pairs are shown by the shopper's own browser from your Files library.

Support requests

When you contact us through the Support button in the app, the name, email address and message you enter are sent to bPlugins' support ticket system so we can reply. We use them only to handle your request.

How we use and share data

We use the data above solely to provide, bill for, support and secure the app. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone except the service providers needed to run the app:

We may disclose data if required by law. Data is transmitted over TLS and access to our servers is limited to authorized bPlugins staff.

How long we keep it

Shopify's privacy webhooks

The app implements Shopify's mandatory compliance webhooks. Because it stores no customer data, customer data requests and customer erasure requests have nothing to return or delete, and we record that we received them. Shop erasure requests delete everything we hold about the store, as described above.

Your rights

You can see and edit everything the app stores about your sliders inside the app itself. To request a copy of your data, correct it, or have it deleted before the 48-hour window, contact us and we will act within 30 days. If you are in the EU, UK, or a jurisdiction with similar laws, these rights apply to you under those laws and you may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we will update the effective date above and note the change in the app.
